Thanks! I will definitely keep posting photos as I work on it. I hope to have it completed by the end of March, at the latest. But I might have it done even sooner at the rate I'm going :-) Keep checking back.
Jen, that guitar looks amazing! I can hardly wait to see it when it's done. Since you said you would be getting better quality guitars, would they be playable if you painted them? Maybe you could do some personalizing of guitars? Anyway, keep up the good work and stay motivated.
If I were to get better quality guitars in the future, I might look more into keeping them playable. It would be a much longer process though - I'd have to sand off the original finish and use diffrent paints, most likely - and do a million coats of clear coat at the end to make it all nice and shiney. Luckily, this guitar already had a 'rough' finish, so all I had to do was spray it with primer. It's just meant to be a piece of art - not exactly playable. (I'm actually going to be painting the strings too!)
Personalizing guitars would be awesome though - I'll just have to do some more research to see how to do it properly.
My two passions in life are art and music, so a lot of my artwork combines the two. I've only been painting for a few years, but I've always done art in one form or another throughout my entire life. The reason I got into painting is a long story, but I ended up loving it, so I think I'll stick with it for a while. :-)
That looks dope so far, make sure to post again when it's done. I think it'll turn out great.
